Day 31

Screen shot of a Power Point slide. I am going to shoot this with the kids and have them edit it together.

Monday, January 30, 2012

Day 30

Today's magical thing? Driving six hours from Athens to Atmore, Alabama and teaching an editing class to little girls. I'm exhausted.

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Day 29

I had people that were on set for The Dance of Hands say a number for an editing exercise I plan on having the kids do. The kids will put the clips in order of their phone number.

Day 28

Before I left the B&B, I gave this pup some love. It did something else in return...

Day 26

Early morning.

Day 25

Today's magic? Teaching 7-12 year olds how to edit on Final Cut Pro. Not an easy job.

Day 24

There are peacocks at the Bed and Breakfast that I am staying at in Alabama.

Monday, January 23, 2012

Day 23

I will be driving to Alabama tomorrow to teach Native American children the basics of editing on Final Cut Pro. I decided to make my syllabus the magic thing of the day. I'm not posting it because it's pretty boring.

Happy birthday, Jess! It is my sister's birthday today. I hope she has a good one!

Day 22

We took this footage on Friday, but I just pieced it together. Josh (one of the actors in The Dance of Hands) missed out on the cookie cake we bought for him because he was celebrating with his giiirrllfrieend. So I made this video of us enjoying it! Happy birthday, Josh!

Day 21

Filmed some of The Dance of Hands today. Pretty exciting! Acting is the magical thing of the day.

Friday, January 20, 2012

Day 20

Look what I made! Okay, so I made an exact copy of something off Etsy...but I still made it. Here's the original. It's a peacock feather in case you couldn't tell.

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Day 19

I got my haircut for The Dance of Hands movie. Ahh! It's so short! Good thing I like acting in funny films.

Day 18

I made an infinity scarf! This tutorial shows you how. Check out the different ways to wear it here. It was really easy. I also got to break in my new sewing machine. Hooray!

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Day 17

I made white bean and tortellini soup! Here is a similar recipe. I used chicken broth instead of water/vegetable broth and kale instead of spinach. Special thanks to Marlene for giving me this recipe. It was very yummy. I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow!

Day 16

Happy MLK day! I made a chalkboard menu. We're going to start planning our dinners at the beginning of the week. I just need to find a place to hang this.

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Day 15

I could explain...but I rather not.

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Day 14

I made a little chalkboard out of the awesome chalkboard contact paper I got for Christmas. Cody is here! We made a radio show!

Day 13

Recently my cousin posted this on facebook. In case you did not know, stock photography (according to Wikipedia) is the supply of photographs licensed for specific uses. It is used to fulfill the needs of creative assignments instead of hiring a photographer. Today, stock images can be presented in searchable online databases. They can be purchased and delivered online. Often, they are produced in studios using a wide variety of models posing as professionals, stereotypes, expressing stereotypical emotions and gesticulations or involving pets.

I felt bad for these unusable stock photos...so I made a video for them.

Day 12

I made thank you cards. Gratitude is so important for mental well-being. This picture is from the card I made for Marlene's mother, Marie. All of the cards had a vintage theme. I am grateful for all of the gifts I received this past Christmas--both physical and spiritual. 2012 is going to be a wonderful year!

Day 11

Today, I made calories disappear. John got me this book and a membership to UGA's gym for Christmas. This week all the group fitness classes are free. I did Kick & Sculpt. Luckily, I have been practicing kickboxing combinations at home thanks to a workout video on Netflix instant watch. I'm still pretty wiped out.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Day 10

Today, I was a substitute for a kindergarten class. I taught students how to measure different objects with linking cubes, we discussed the many types of transportation, and I took them to the career fair. It is magical to witness these children actually wanting to learn. AND THEY HUG! The hugs were my favorite part. Oh, and debating whether Santa was 40 or 1,000 years old.

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day 9

Craft Day! I made this necklace using this tutorial. Yes, we still have our Christmas tree up.

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Day 8

A video collage of silliness.

Saturday, January 7, 2012

Day 7

Today, I made something magical happen. I can't really show it to you. It has to do with my mind and my perception of the world. Today, I ignored fear and chose the path of forgiveness and love. My main goal for 2012 is to continue this new outlook. I also want to take this chance to express my gratitude for the people in my life. I wish you all love and joy.

Day 6

Inspired by the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

Thursday, January 5, 2012

Day 5

I used footage from one of my mom's old psychology video tapes and put it to the music of Phantogram's "Running from the Cops." Enjoy.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Day 4

Back in Athens with this guy.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Day 3

We had a large dog and six cats joining us on the drive to Pittsburgh. It made the ride interesting. And furry.

Monday, January 2, 2012

Day 2

Stop-motion fun time at Katie Rieck's.

Sunday, January 1, 2012

Day 1

Chautauqua reunions are magical. I love these people.
